Havingread the novel Gone with the wind written by America writer Margaret Mitchell,I was deeply shocked .The novel ,which Margaret Mitchell spent about ten yearson, not only created a myth, but also show her own personal opinion to theworld. The novel’s background is based on the civil war, which happened in theUnited States. According to the changes of the civil war stars thecircumstances, so it has divided the macro history into micro history ofpersonal experience. We can realize that the thinking of Margaret throughcharacters changes of people.
GONEWIITH THE WIND is a famous story, which main character is Scarlett who is theoldest daughter of a reach man. Scarlett grew in a soft and sweet environment.Her childhood is full of happiness and freedom, but at the age of sixteen, theworld of her life began to change. At the bottom of her heart, she loved Ashleyvery much! Then news came that Ashley would be married with Melanie, she feltsurprised and even couldn’t accept the fact. With the psychology of revengingAshley, Scarlett married to Melanie’s brother before the day Ashley wedding.With the development of the war, many young man died，including Scarlett’s husband. Scarlett can’t stand the boring lifeas a widow. At the same time Ashley also joined the army, so his wife Melanieinvited Scarlett to the home of Charles’s aunt. Without more consideration,Scarlett left for Atlanta with her little son. For the change of environment,Scarlett felt a little better. Much to her happiness, Charles left a largeamount of heritage, for the more and more relationship between the north andsouth, women in Atlanta were mobilized to support the war. One time thehospital holds a party to collect contributions. In the party, Scarlett met astrange person, whose name was Rhett. And Scarlett still remembered that he wasjust the person who had known her love to Ashley. Rhett invited Scarlett tohave a dancing though she was criticized by all the women around her, she stillaccepted the invitation. After the case, Scarlett became more and more open tothings around her. The war was terrible, but it also gives Scarlett a chance tofight with the old custom. Ashley came back from the battlefield for one week.Scarlett made up her mind to tell Ashley her true feeling, but rejected byAshley once again. Eventually, Scarlett married with Rhett. One years later ，they had a lovely daughter called Bonnie who is beautiful like theyoung Scarlett. Rhett loves Bonnie very much so that he can do everything forher including change himself it gets along with the people who hate him before.Scarlett is very envy the little Bonnie. But Scarlett still loves Ashley, notRhett. After Bonnie died, Rhett felt the world began to over. And then hedecided to leave. At the same day, Ashley’s wife was dying, too. Talking toAshley, she eventually found that the man who she really love is Rhett, notAshley. Ashley is not to be worth love at all.
WhenI read out the book ，I heart was full ofsorrow, Scarlett was a plain girl, but what she did was not plain. She didn’tstay silence in the war, her own world was changed by herself. Scarlett has thebraveness to change the old rule. What she finally has is the consequence ofher own effort. Another character that I love most is Rhett. He is a man wholoves Scarlett very much, no matter what difficulties Scarlett faced, Rhettwill always company her and take measures of it. And he always make Scarletthappy because he is a man who known of her clearly. After the Scarlett’s firsthusband died, he was invited her to dance that made her never upset. When thesecond husband died, he persuaded her don’t sorrow and went down on his kneesto ask Scarlett marry him. What’s more, what I also love character is Melanie,she is so kind-hearted and always stand in the side of others, in my heart, sheis the embodiment of kindness.
I’mso deeply shocked by the indomitable spirit of Scarlett facing difficulties.But to attain her ending by hook, I felt offensive, especially the thing whatshe had done to Melanie. What’s more, I’m so angry with her infatuationattitude to Ashley and her ignorance attitude to Rhett. While the more careRhett gave to Scarlett, the more joy I got. Nevertheless, at last, Rhett felt disappointmentand left Scarlett. In my opinion, everyone has her own desire. Whether thedesire is usual or unusual, we need to search for our own happiness. The desirewill be a driving force for us. We will pursue our happiness, although theremight be some difficulties and disputes, we should not give up our desire. AsScarlett said that， “tomorrow is anotherday!”
