A Little Princess is a touching novelwritten by Frances Hodgson Burnett—a well known American novelist anddramatist. She also writes another popular story book called “Secret Garden”which is a required reading book for senior high school students.
Sara lives in India with her belovedfather, however, her father, Ralph Crewe, made up her mind to send her daughterto England for further study. She was an imaginative little girl who had suchintelligent small face and perfect manners. Sara was a very nice girl who had agentle, appreciative ways of saying, such as “If you please” “Thank you” whichwas very charming. So, not only her teachers and classmates liked her, but alsoher servants liked her.
When she was eleven-year-old, everythingchanged. Ralph Crewe had lost everything because he was cheated by his friend.At that moment, Sara had nothing, including her beloved father. She became aservant and worked for her bread. She was brave enough that she cleaned floors,make fires and even taught other students French. She was even scolded by thecook and laughed at by has classmates. She was confident, brave, optimistic andkind-hearted just like before and she had never given up her enthusiasm oflife. No matter when, Sara acted like a princess. she always told herself that“When things are very bad, something nice always happen.”
After reading this outstanding book, Iwas shocked by Sara, a little girl who suffered such unimaginable pain andtortures, but still had an opposite attitude towards life. What impresses memost is that: Sara once was a rich girl who had beautiful thing that most girlsdreamt of, buts he kept being helpful, brave, confident when she lost her only relativeand as poor as other servants. From my point of view, her spirit of being sostrong-minded when she was in hard times is worth admiring.
Truly, every girl is a princess cominginto common life. the “princess” I mean is not a princess living in the palaceand being regarded as the apple of everyone’s eye. As the matter of fact, the“princess” is at heart. I am in the belief that every ordinary girl in theworld can be a princess. The way for a girl to be a princess is quite simple.Just suppose! You can suppose yourself to be a princess, and go about your businessconfidently without caring how the others would treat you. If you want to havemore resemblance to a princess, be more kind and try your best to help thepeople in need. The most important thing you are supposed to do is that to feellike a real princess at any occasion, particularly when you are involved withenormous melancholy. Do not feel the conditions you faced are extremelywretched and attempt to get rid of the feeling of hopelessness and uneasiness.The less you look like a princess, the more you need to feel like a princess atheart.
Every girl can be a princess if she cando all I mentioned, no matter she is rich, beautiful or not. To speaktruthfully, I cannot do as well as Sara. However, I will exert myself on beinga princess mentally. Do not feel depressed any more, to be a well-thought-ofprincess like Sara. You can do it, because Every Girl Can Be A princess.
