The book Pride and Prejudice is thefirst English novel I have read. It really surprised me when I was in thecollege. I do admire the love and the feeling between the two characters whichwas the first opinion after my first reading. And then I read the second andthird time. You can’t believe what I got then. Now let me introduce the book,my love.
Pride and Prejudice is a novel by JaneAusten, first published in1813. The story follows the main character ElizabethBennet as she deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education,and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of early 19th-centuryEngland. Elizabeth is the second of five daughters of a country gentlemanliving near the fictional town of Meryton in Hertfordshire, near London.
The story began with the arrival of acrowed of rich men who rent a house near the Bennets. In the ball, Elizabethgave such a bad impression on Darcy that she refused Darcy’s first proposal. Hewas so surprised by Eli’s refusal that he fell in love with her gradually. AndEli’s antipathy made him realize his previous attitude. Through someexperiences, they were both in love with each other.
Most people simply regard the novel as alove story, but I think, it is an illustration of the society in the early 19th-centuryEngland. The writer perfectly reflected the relation between money and marriageat that time and gave the people in her works vivid characters. The charactershave their own personalities. I really love the different roles in the novel. Ihope you love it too.
